If you are an Alfa Romeo lover in search of that special Giulietta, look no further. Here is an example of a restored Spider that could be accurately described using all of the oft overused superlatives: “nut-and-bolt”, “body off”, “Rotisserie Restoration.”

A client of mine with the good fortune to have his own restoration hobby shop set out to relive his youth by restoring the same type of car he drove when he and his wife were first dating. It’s a genuine factory Giulietta Spider Veloce per the Alfa Romeo Certificate of Originality. It currently runs a slightly breathed-on rebuilt 1600cc motor, with a dyno sheet showing 128 horsepower. It’s very quick, and quite tractable. Included in the sale is the original number-matching 1300cc Veloce motor, also freshly rebuilt. Both power plants were rebuilt by Mike Besic of Besic Motorsports, widely regarded as one of the best Alfa engine builders in the US.

It currently uses a rebuilt five speed Alfa transmission, and comes with a spare Alfa 4-speed. The suspension and brakes are also rebuilt. The paint and upholstery are superb, as is the chrome and glass. The undercarriage on its own tells the story of the overall quality of the restoration. I could go on, but frankly, there was too much done to this Alfa to list.
