1970 Maserati Ghibli 4.7

Original Factory color Rosso Fuoco (Fire Red) with cream leather.

Euro version with 76,600 KM

Beginning in 1990 this Ghibli has been part of a private collection of exclusive Italian sports cars. I have always thought that the Ghibli is one of the most civilized of all the Post-War Italian Gran Turismos. No one would blame you if you fell in love with it strictly on its appearance; the coachwork is one of the earliest designs drawn by the legendary genius, Giorgetto Giugiaro. It’s rare enough that not many people have had the opportunity to drive one. Its level of comfort and drivability equals or exceeds its Ferrari and Lamborghini counterparts of the period, and the big torquey 4-cam V8 motor yields wonderful flexibility.

At 76,442 km the following service items were tended to: two new fuel pumps were installed, along with a new fuel filter. New spark plugs were also installed, and the brakes and clutch fluids were changed. Engine, transmission, and differential oil was replaced. Coolant was drained and refilled. The magnesium wheels were sent out for restoration, and five new period Michelin XWX tires were mounted.

Can be seen and driven in Middleburg, VA, near Dulles International airport, in Virginia’s hunt country.
